By popular demand, Deborah Sword presents: ‘How to Conduct a Conflict Analysis and Three Reasons You Want the Skill’Have you ever asked the wrong question? How useful was the answer to it?
Conflict and stress can trap you into asking questions you think delve into your conflict, and are actually detours away from it. That’s what avoiding conflict looks like. In this session, you’ll get tools to frame the real questions you want to answer. The right questions generate better answers for problem solving and conflict management.

The three reasons you want to know how to conduct a conflict analysis are: the value of thinking about your thinking; revealing your blind spots; and friending conflict. We’ll discuss these as foundations for your new conflict analysis skills.

Most of Deborah’s career has been in conflict management and she still loves the work. She started with a masters degree in Environmental Dispute Resolution, (let’s get this resolved). From there, she moved to Conflict Management, (let’s be more conflict competent now and the future). For her doctorate, she studied Conflict Analysis, (let’s ask better questions about the heart of conflict, analyze earlier, and delve deeper). Deborah has convened thousands of innovative conflict management processes, locally and internationally, has taught conflict studies at universities and privately, and trained Boards of Directors in effective governance. She’s active as a writer, researcher, trainer, coach, and keynote speaker. An active volunteer, she served on the Boards of Directors of numerous environmental and peace organizations

Hi Friends, Some of you might remember my friend and colleague, Lynn Miller from a few years ago?  She led a wonderful music improvisation workshop that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.  She is a master of improvisation and gently and playfully invites people to feel safe and participate. Well, she is coming back for a visit and will be doing another workshop on Sunday, Oct 14th.  I will co-facilitate by supporting the process with simple expressive arts exercises. It will be a truly enjoyable workshop.  Pass this on to anyone who you feel may like to join us.
Please contact me at 250-777-1704 or Soulgarden58@gmail.com if would like to register.
